Hello from Japan. This kimono is made by the technique of Nishijin-ori. It's a single garment without lining, so it can be washed. Condition is Very Good.
This kimono is a Nishijin-ori made to resemble the color and pattern of Oshima Tsumugi. Nishijin-ori is very famous as a production center of obi in Kyoto. Why did the great Nishijin make a kimono like a copy of Oshima Tsumugi?
The reason is that : Oshima Tsumugi is so very popular in Japan. Nishijin-ori is also very popular, but Oshima Tsumugi is extremely popular in Japan as a kimono. With Nishijin's high level of weaving techniques, it was not difficult to make Oshima-style textiles. At first glance, it looks like Oshima, but if you look closely at this kimono, it is very interesting that you can see it in Nishijin-ori. This is one of the interesting and profound points of Japanese Kimono.
