About Washing :
Basically, washing is not recommended. This kimono has a lining. Japanese kimonos made of pure silk often have different weaves for the outer and lining fabrics. The outer material is made of a fabric with a complex weave, and the lining is made with a simple weave. Depending on the weave, the amount of shrinkage when washed will vary. In many cases, the outer fabric will shrink more than the lining, causing the outer fabric to pull on the lining. Then, the lining will wrap around to the front side. This kind of phenomenon often occurs.
Additionally, in the case of embroidered outer fabrics, the shrinkage rates of the embroidery thread and outer thread are different, so the embroidery may lose its shape when washed.
For these reasons, we do not recommend washing kimonos made of pure silk that have linings.
